Did you have a bad (or good) experience reporting through the Comcast Listens Program? Did you give up on a Comcast Solutions claim because they delayed the process for years? Were you forced to quit or retaliated against in some other way because you came forward?

I recently quit Comcast for a new job. I was working out for Comcast Small to Medium Business out of Manchester, NH. I put in my two weeks and my supervisor demanded I rewrite my resignation later for the same day and then escorted me out of the building. They promised to pay me out on my week of vacation days and pay me for my 2 referral bonuses ($1000). I got my paycheck today and they paid me for one days worth of work ($51). Now I am going to lose my car, my place to live, and my new job because I can’t pay for daycare. I have been on Maternity leave for 12 weeks so I am completely wiped out of all funds. Filed a complaint with the BBB and NH Department of Labor. Hoping they will give me the $2000ish that is owed to me. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY.

I worked for Comcast in Madison, MS for almost 2 years and quit at the beginning of this month. Started with a HUGE absess in my mouth which had to be surgically removed. My supervisor still tried to put me on the phone to take calls even though my jaw was swollen. I went above her head while in excruciating pain & finally got released to be off for 2 days. I PAID $350 out of pocket to have the FOUR teeth removed, and also thought I covered my tracks checking with Sedwick and HR to be sure I didn’t lose my Flex days I had just recently received. My first day back to work after the surgery, I got called into HR and The Call Center Manager offices for disciplinary reasons. (which was obviously retaliation from my jealous, ass kissing supervisor since I got released to leave work with the absess) Mind you, I hadn’t even gotten on the phone yet. I am a mother of a 2 & 3 year old. Due to me losing those flex days even though my FMLA approved my surgery I was forced to resign. I had no more days, other than vacation days(which have to be put in weeks ahead). This is EXTREMLY sad & sickening the way Comcast treats their employees. This job was my bread and butter and now Im homeless and trying to catch up with hours upon hours of bills and financial responsibility Comcast has me in a bind with. I just pray that I never get that eager for a pay increase because all money, aint good money. Especially when you never have time to spend it, nevertheless with your family. Just glad I’ve released those shackles!

I need a lawyer to sue Comcast Communications for terminating my employment claiming bad performance which was manipulated.
I was on STD for almost 3 months (10/27/14 – 01/15/15), when I came back to work I was placed on a performance plan and I was told they were being very understanding with me due to all my health issues. I complained to the Comcast Listens Department, and after I did that, they started manipulating my team’s calls in order to make them and myself fail the sales and performance metrics. They fired me on Friday 06/19/2015. They clearly Retaliated against me, however, I need a good lawyer that can take my case to fight for me since we need to audit their records and interview my team members who are witnesses of the manipulation of calls. I would rather a lawyer that will not charge me any fees until the case is won since I cannot really afford a lawyer now. I also applied for unemployment.

A Success Story
Comcast IS evil – there’s no doubt about it. I worked in more than one location and the management must have gone to school at Satan’s University – ALL the places I worked had MAJOR sexual harrassment of women, people of faith, etc. Would go into more detail but can’t afford to as I’m looking for a job after being fired for reporting this abuse. They are evil. Don’t waste your time. You don’t need the money THAT bad…. especially since I think they put out a black list to other similar companies of people they don’t like. They’re just NOT WORTH IT!
UPDATE 2016: After I was fired, I sued them and WON. I still get contacted by all their agencies – and even their own HR folks about new jobs I’m qualified for (almost always at MUCH higher pay rates than I made with them before) but never get hired because of winning my suit against them and their continuing to blacklist me to everyone both inside and apparently outside the company. This company is evil. STAY AWAY – YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

In November of 2013, I required surgery to correct a hernia that had developed due to triple heart bypass that I had received during work, but was asked by my supervisor to “put it through my health insurance”. This was my second such surgery because of the work I had peformed (install technician). I never put either of them through workmans comp. After the surgery, since it was my second, the doctor would not sign my return to current position form. I went into talk with HR, and was told that I could “apply for another position, but it was not guaranteed that I would get it or if I did it would be at a much less wage.” They did not offer any other position as I could only lift up to a certain amount. So in essence, I feel not only that I was made to put 2 claims under my own health insurance instead of workmans comp, but not given a chance for another position with in the company, and made to feel like I was forced to terminate my employment. I was treated unfairly by Comcast Sales Management Department while I was a Comcast employee. I was hired as Area Sales Representative for Comcast located on 1301 MCcormick Drive, Largo, MD 20774. I was terminated before finishing my probation for no justifiable reason. My Supervisor used to pick on me and single me out for no apparent reason. According to my job description, your supervisor was not suppose to be following you around especially when you were visiting clients in your territory. However, my supervisor kept following me on my field trips and showing up at my client appointments without notifying me. This violation went on from the time I joined Comcast until I left Comcast. The working conditions were not conducive at all. I was assigned to work in tough and rough neighborhoods. I was humiliated, intimidated and harassed several times by Comcast former clients who did not have a good experience with Comcast. Most of these clients used to take their frustrations out on me. When I reported my experience to my supervisor during our staff meetings, he decided to retaliate against me. My attendance was good and I always reported on duty. I was able to close a lot of deals and yet Comcast didn’t appreciate me at all. The Sales department and the call center made me loose a lot of deals because their staff personnel were incompetent. When I complained and exposed this incompetence at staff meetings, the entire Sales department decided to single me out and to retaliate against me. The former supervisor called for an impromptu with the Human resources manager without giving me a verbal or written warning. That’s the time when I learnt that I was being terminated. The former supervisor stated that, ” I thought you didn’t want to work with me. The Human resources managet stated that “you were not the perfect fit for our Company. ML
does working for Comcast under Support.com qualify also as being with comcast. under comcast rules etc…..?
Good and bad….
While the company does have great benefits and their current pay in many positions are comparable if not better than others my only issue is with their promotions…too many times the company has promoted people not on experience in said role but more on whether they are a veteran(which is awesome) LGBT, or part of a minority.
I’m not prejudice in anyway however in the many years I’ve been there I’ve seen many hard working, highly qualified people passed up for promotions because they were not any of the above…many have filed complaints on comcastlistens with no luck…I have even see anonymous complaints filed traced back to the person who filed the complaints.
Overall the company in many cases haven’t been promoting the best qualified for certain positions, but they do pay well enough and the workplace in many locations are wonderful.
I worked for Comcast for two years and it was the worst mistake ever. I was a Tech, which is the same as saying I was a prison gang worker, because that is about the level of respect or care they give Techs. The pay for the same position at AT&T was double what they were paying for triple the amount of work. I actually spoke with AT&T techs and they told me although there is a strong emphasis on safety, they only have to do 4-5 jobs a day, while Comcast wanted us doing 11 – 15, more if you did overtime (overtime punishment). I’m actually writing a full memoir of my experiences at the website below (book website) because it was so bad, so corrupt and Corporate could care less. Also, they support hiring of Veterans, which is good – but they don’t re-train them to work in the civilian sector, so your subjected to these maladjusted people who want to take the military wherever they go…
My whole class got targeted because pictures were found in our assignments, some of which turned out to be OSHA violations by our “PALS” (experienced Techs who taught us in the field). They were so paranoid about those pics that they started picking on us throughout our whole time at Comcast. with me, they started by kicking me to another team, which they used as an excuse to ban me from working in my home radius, forcing me to drive an extra 20 minutes to an hour and a half to start my jobs, while at the same time hammering me about my productivity scores. They gave me an unsafe van that looked like they dragged it our of a lake, filled with roach traps and wouldn’t even start when they dragged it up. Furthermore, I was too tall for it, but they would not let me swap out for a different model. I ended up with nerve damage from being cramped in the van.
I was on light duty, and then after a few months suddenly was kicked off light duty with an ultimatum that I have to be able to go back to the job that hurt me or be off with no pay. This happened in one day, and they wouldn’t even let the people they kicked out of the call center get their last 8 hours for the week. They just kicked us out, and acted like light duty never existed, simply because there was a new Regional Director. It was like that scene in the Wiz where the dancers change completely according to the color changes the Wiz commanded, forgetting the last color. Everyone acts like they are going to get whipped when something comes down from Corporate. It was surreal.
After going back to my Tech job, my Supervisor began to be abusive, along with another Supervisor buddy of his. They both tend to get together and harrass whomever they may. By the way – all these people, as well as myself, are Black – so its no favoritism towards minorities there – Black people don’t do color based favoritism, they do it according to who they LIKE, but they could care less about color. Wat I saw was Black Supervisors giving White guys favoritism. The Black Supervisors actually acted like they were afraid of them, allowed them to disrespect them, ignore them, and rarely checked behind them – but the Black workers couldn’t even breath the wrong direction without getting written up. My best Supervisor experience was a White guy at the headquarters in the call center. The Black ones all had nasty attitudes and acted like pimps. “better have my damn units…”.
After repeated attacks I wrote up my Supervisor and his buddy. It was all downhill after that. My Supervisor stopped the verbal harassment, but began writing my up for minor things that nobody ever gets written up for. Every action against me I met with a complaint to Comcast Listens, but they didn’t do anything but listen and then look for any excuse to support the false accusers. The Supervisor put lies in my file, and despite it being obvious, the Comcast Listen investigator ignored his fraudulent action and started looking for more things to go after ME about. As I kept complaining about the false accusations, they kept me under the same guy and allowed him to continue to write me up about other things.
I was still fighting all this, but things went quiet for 7 months. I got my job but it was out of my area by 50 miles. I called the Supervisor and for some reason he told me to come into the office. I went there and the HR lady was there to fire me on the spot. That woman never did like me for some grade school reason. She was happy to fire me. She told me that that I had a final warning 7 months earlier and so she talked to Corporate and decided to fire me. There were a lot of other details in this I cannot go into here, but the fact is, they wanted to fire me for any reason. Talking to Comcast Listens is a waste of time, because they are not unbiased. I had an investigator attacking and accusing me of the false accusations that I was complaining of, because her assistant was out sick in the middle of the case and she was too lazy to continue doing the leg work!
The last investigator had a mountain of written documentation, but she kept trying to do everything by phone instead. When she couldn’t reach me (twice) she closed the case. The last time she starts telling me about some stuff I didn’t do right after the last write-up, that I was never made aware of. All they do is look for proof enough to rule in the Supervisors favor, it was a complete waste of time.
All in all, Comcast could be a great place to work – but the animals are running the zoo there, and the zookeepers aren’t doing their job. You advance by cronyism – I saw one guy get a promotion because he went to their Charity and someone just grabbed him and placed him in a better job. Oh, and the whole performance system is rigged so that employees are never doing well enough. Comcast keeps you on the edge all the time, as if that’s some sort of “motivation”. The Techs are given way less time than it realistically takes to do their job and be safe – and are fired when they cannot do the impossible. That’s why they are always hiring. The training is sad and rushed – but don’t say anything or they will treat you like something is wrong with YOU. I could write a book… wait- I AM writing a book. I wouldn’t recommend a half-brained monkey to that company – just an awful place. The only thing good is the relationship with your co-workers, who you feel just as sorry for as you do yourself because surely there must be a more appreciative place to work than the hellhole that is Comcast.
